Course Introduction: Biological Fluid Mechanics

This course introduces biomedical engineering students to the fundamentals of fluid mechanics and how these fundamentals govern biomedically relevant systems including the cardiovascular system and swimming microorganisms.

Research

My research is broadly on small swimming things. These include both biological and artificial swimmers. I am mainly interested in the fluid mechanical aspects, yet there are always some elements from different disciplines added in. Theory and experiments complement each other for a holistic understanding. See some examples below.
